Baroja Bipine Jamuna Kule English Translation

On the banks of the Yamuna in the forest of Vraja,
A beautiful stage is wonderfully adorned with flowers.

The large trees and creepers please the eyes,
And upon them, many birds sing sweetly.

The gentle Malayan breeze blows softly,
And swarms of bees hover around, greedy for honey.

It is the full moon night of spring,
And the moon constantly distributes its soothing light with affection.

At such a beautiful time, the best of relishers,
The flute player (Krishna), began the Rasa dance.

Amidst hundreds of millions of Gopis, Lord Hari
Dances joyfully with Sri Radha.

The enchantress of Madhava (Radha) sang a song,
Which captivated the hearts of the entire universe.

She enchanted all moving and non-moving beings,
And even bewildered the mind of Chandrabali.

Churning the mind of the youth of Vraja (Krishna),
Radha then suddenly disappeared.

Bhaktivinoda considers this a great disaster,
For the Rasa dance is broken today without Radha.

Hundreds of millions of Gopis tried with all their effort,
But they could not hold the mind of Madhava.

Playing His flute, Syama calls out the name of Radhika:
“Come, come, O Radhe!” He cries out.

Breaking the circle of the divine Rasa dance,
He wanders in search of Radha.

“O Radhe, appear and save My life!”
He cries while wandering from forest to forest.

Finding Radha in a solitary forest, Hari embraces Her,
And His heart is finally soothed and pacified.

He says, “Without You, whose Rasa is this?
My residence in Vraja is only for You.”

At the lotus feet of such a Radhika,
Bhaktivinoda weeps and prays:

“Counting me among Your personal associates,
Please keep me as Your own maidservant.”

ভজনের মূল ভাব (Key Theme)

এই ভজনের মূল উপজীব্য হলো শ্রীকৃষ্ণের জীবনে শ্রীমতা রাধারাণীর পরম শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব এবং অপরিহার্যতা। যমুনার তীরে যখন রাসলীলা শুরু হয়, তখন সেখানে শতকোটি গোপী উপস্থিত ছিলেন। কিন্তু রাধারাণী যখন শ্রীকৃষ্ণের প্রতি অভিমান করে রাসলীলা থেকে অন্তর্ধান করেন, তখন সেই শতকোটি গোপী মিলেও শ্রীকৃষ্ণের মন ভোলাতে পারেননি। শ্রীকৃষ্ণ রাসলীলা ভেঙে রাধার খোঁজে বনে বনে কেঁদে বেড়িয়েছেন। রাধাকে ফিরে পেয়ে তিনি স্বীকার করেছেন যে রাধাকে ছাড়া কোনো রাসলীলাই সম্ভব নয় এবং তাঁর বৃন্দাবনে থাকার একমাত্র কারণই হলো রাধা। পদের শেষে শ্রীল ভক্তিবিনোদ ঠাকুর সেই পরমেশ্বরী রাধারাণীর চরণে নিজেকে দাসী হিসেবে সমর্পণ করার প্রার্থনা জানিয়েছেন।
